Cane Creek Riparian Area ~ 16 acres, Alamance County

Quentin & Lou Sawyer.  Donation of Conservation Easement.

This easement ensures that a 200 foot wide forested buffer will permanently be maintained along Little Cane Creek, a tributary to the Haw River.  The easement was donated in 1997. Maintenance of forested riparian buffers is critical to the long-term protection of the water quality of North Carolina’s rivers and streams, the plants and animal life that they support, and drinking water that they provide.

Funding for this project provided by the landowner and PLC.
