A regionally significant Natural Heritage Site in Forsyth County, this property contains a 3 to 4 acre wetland that provides habitat for the federally endangered bog turtle (Clemmys mulenbergii).  In 1994, the property was placed on the market.  Due to its conservation significance, PLC and other concerned parties brought the property to the attention of the North Carolina Department of Transportation which ultimately purchased the property in 1998 as a wetland mitigation site.

Project funding provided by the NC Department of Transportation.
