Although PLC also has a
project selection process, PLC’s process is often much shorter than working with
a government agency. Hence in 1997, PLC accepted a donation of land from Gerald
Parker who had wanted to donate it directly to Guilford County. PLC transferred
the property to the County once the necessary approvals were obtained.
Currently this forested property provides water quality protection for Little
Alamance Creek. In the future it may be used as part of Guilford County’s
greenway system.
