Conservation Successes

Since its founding in 1990, PLC has permanently protected more than 116 of the Piedmont’s special places encompassing more than 13,200 acres.  Each of these conservation successes represents the diversity of the Piedmont. They protect farmland, rivers, streams and wetlands, natural, historic, and scenic lands, and urban natural areas.  Through the protection of these lands, PLC helps ensure the people who live and visit this region have clean drinking water, access to locally grown food, outdoor recreational opportunities, and scenic views.
