Our Preserves

Come out to the new Caraway Creek Preserve, just opened in May of 2023. Explore 2.5 miles of trail in the unique landscape of the ancient, northern Uwharrie Mountain chain.

Located just 10 minutes west of Asheboro and 30 minutes south of High Point and Greensboro. Open daily from dawn to dusk.

Right next to Belews Lake there is a piece of quiet, undisturbed land that not many people know about. We’d like to invite you to stop by for a walk.

Knight Brown Nature Preserve is open daily from dawn to dusk. Located right near Belews Creek in Stokesdale, North Carolina.

Why Our Members Support Us

FOR THE FUTURE

“Land conversation is important to preserve our remaining green space for people and animals to thrive. Natural green and blue space helps to heal the mind and body. PLC is creating space and sanctuary for our future.”

– Julia Opaleski,  PLC Member

FOR THE PRESERVES AND TRAILS

“Supporting Piedmont Land Conservancy is important to me as someone who utilizes the many wonderful acres of trails through the Piedmont. I want those who travel to the area and those like me that need time in the woods searching for their favorite bird to have a clean and safe environment to explore. “

– Allen Rogers,  PLC Member

FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

“We support PLC because we want to help protect landscapes for the benefit of people and our non-human kin. This is particularly important to us as the climate crisis worsens. And we are increasingly wanting to support local, not just national, organizations.”

– Kate and Tom Guthrie,  PLC Members

Connecting you to Trails in the Piedmont Triad

We know how important public access is for our community so together with the Piedmont Triad Regional Council we created Piedmont Legacy Trails, the trails collective in the Piedmont Triad whose primary goal is to highlight our natural places, connect trail efforts, and give voice to regional trail interests for the the benefit of our communities.

You make it happen

PLC is a non-profit membership organization which relies on individuals to support our day-to-day operations. Funding to acquire conservation properties comes from individuals, foundations, as well as government agencies.
