Planning Committee Description
The Bashavia Creek Preserve Planning Committee will play a critical role in shaping the vision, direction, and execution of this exciting conservation project. Committee members will collaborate with PLC staff and community stakeholders to guide the creation of the preserve.
Responsibilities may include:
- Visioning and Planning: Defining the long-term goals for the preserve, such as conservation priorities, public access, and community involvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Reaching out to local communities, landowners, and other relevant groups to gather input and build support.
- Research and Strategy: Assisting with environmental, historical, and cultural research to ensure the preserve protects critical natural areas and provides educational and recreational opportunities.
- Project Oversight: Providing feedback on site plans, timelines, and budgets, and helping to oversee the preserves progress as it develops.
- Volunteer Trail Building: Organizing and joining volunteer efforts to build and maintain trails, ensuring that they are sustainably designed and provide safe access for visitors.
Committee members will contribute their expertise, enthusiasm, and ideas to help create a lasting natural space that benefits wildlife and people for generations to come.
