Join us for an educational exploration of PLC-protected Knight Brown Nature Preserve in Rockingham County, over 180 acres of woodlands, trails and streams. There are three different hiking loops covering approximately three miles of terrain. We will look for native plants, blooming flowers, bugs and critters, and the various types of wildlife that make these woods their home. We will pause along the way at many of the peaceful spots in the preserve where you can reflect and enjoy the sounds of nature.
All ages welcome, as well as leashed, well-behaved dogs. Please wear appropriate shoes for hiking and possibly wet conditions if we’ve had some rain. You may want to bring bugspray and sunscreen as well. If you enjoy nature journaling then bring along your favorite journal (or we can provide one). We’ll encourage everyone to unplug and enjoy nature on this woodland hike.
