Celebrate National Trails Day with other volunteers and Piedmont Land Conservancy on Saturday, June 3 from 9:00 am – 12 noon to help complete a new walking trail at Faith Rock Nature Preserve along the Deep River in Franklinville.
PLC purchased this 13- acre property last year and will transfer the property to the Town of Franklinville to become a public natural area park. Faith Rock, a major geographic landmark,
is a county historic site with remarkable Revolutionary War history.
Volunteers will be trimming small limbs and roots, raking soil and generally
cleaning up the trail. Bring gloves, boots, appropriate clothing, water and a snack.
Volunteers may bring rakes, pruners and loppers. Some tools will be provided.
Meet at the entrance to the property on Faith Rock Road (½ mile from Andrew Hunter Road
on the left hand side, marked with pink survey tape and PLC sign). Check our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/piedmontland/) in case the weather is questionable.
Come out and help create an outstanding benefit for the public to enjoy the beauty of the Deep River and outstanding scenic views from Faith Rock!
