Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant is the primary staff person charged with managing PLC’s office setting and technological needs. This is a part-time position that reports to the Executive Director. The position is anticipated to require 10-12 hours per week, with some seasonal fluctuations and could see an increase in hours based upon the candidate’s background and experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
1. General oversight of PLC’s office setting:

a. Phone systems
b. Printer and postage
c. Answering phones
d. Bank Deposits
e. Onboarding new staff members
f. Insurance forms, audits and other paperwork

2. Assist Executive Director and other staff members with preparing materials for Board meetings and other committee meetings.
3. Coordinate with outside contractor on technological needs, software licensing, computer orders, etc.
4. Coordinate with outside accountant on financial documents, staff timesheets, expense reports, etc.
5. Assist with office management tasks including:

a. Ordering supplies
b. Maintaining a clean, enjoyable work space

Essential Job Requirements:

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a small business or non-profit organization.

Required Skills:
1. A personal commitment to the mission of Piedmont Land Conservancy.
2. Microsoft Excel – ability to organize, manipulate and extract data using Microsoft Excel
3. Excellent team member – ability to work with others, respect for all team members and ability to foster and maintain an enjoyable, rewarding and productive workplace.
4. People skills – must have an ability to interact with individuals from different backgrounds, ages and socio-economic levels in a manner that positively reflects the values of PLC.
5. Self-motivation – comfortable working independently on multiple projects simultaneously, strong organizational and time management skills, a commitment to accuracy and integrity in all aspects of the job.
